Waldorf banners finished installed today

Well........after a long month of working out the design and kinks, the Waldorf banners are finished and we installed them today...or I should say, my daughter and son-in-law installed them today...I brought the banners and supervised as any Mom should do, right???We had some hardware issues, several trips to the hardware store, but for the most part they are installed and they love how they look....above is the full and close up view of one set of banners and there are two more sets.  Each larger banner is to banners sanwiched into one so both sides are similar but individual banners and the smaller banner is a single layer banner ... in all I created nine banners...first thing I did this morning was rid my studio of all the scrap nylon and rolled whatever larger pieces were left onto a storage roller and it is in storage.  My vacuum will never be the same again after sucking up all those loose nylon threads...the nylon ravels terribly and the banners are a bit hairly in parts, but they will all get blown away once the wind hits them....not the banners, but the misc. hairs from the nylon.  I'm sure the school kids will love them...already had good comments from the teachers who were on site getting the school ready for opening this coming Tuesday.

What I did learn while creating this project is that I can still work  under extreme pressure.  I used to work like this at FEDEX and at home with my first husband when he was ill and I had a house full of kids....but now I'm retired and my second husband is ill and this past month his illness was and is very stressful for me as his caregiver on top of working up these nine banners to have completed before Sept 1....and I made the deadline.  But what I did learn about myself is that if I focus, listen and create all at the same time, I'm unbeatable and that's a good feeling.

Now I have a new project...four large cushions from an old RV need to be recreated from scratch...trade work with my son-in-law as he repaired my studio rooftop for the upcoming pending rains this fall/winter.  Tediuos work with no deadline, so I can work on them here and there in and around my work for the gallery and for exhibits.

Taking a few days off to chill out from the banners and then I'll start in again...studio is clean, ready to begin again.
