Having a Good Month at the Gallery
I've sold three pieces so far this month through the gallery: Planning the March (above), Toe Dippin' and A Ride in the Park.....wonderful news....I changed my display to include only my "Buried Deep" series...all the work is my work using old photos. The display looks great even though I'm in the back room...it's interesting to watch people come into the gallery and make their way into the back room and they stop, look to the left and stare at the wall for a long time, taking in each piece...at least I know they are interested and they stopped to look at the work. I've also had two people connect with me via the internet asking about commission work and a gallery has emailed me about a possible solo show late 2012 or 2013....wonderful!!!! So, this is keeping me going when I could easily get bored with all of these at this point....I do need to make some new work of some new photos....which I did today....used an old photo I had of myself and my girlfriends back in the early 50's all dressed in Halloween costumes...about seven of us...it's cute, so I think it will do well. I could see Ride in the Park, Toe Dippin and Sister Stroller over and over and over, but I'm getting bored with doing them over and over....I"ll have to have another set on hand for the next couple of months as I'm sure they will see over the holidays and they will need to be replaced.
I'm thinking the next group in this series will get a bit more complicated...not just the people images, but put more into the overall surface to add a little more interest...this might mean I'll have to charge more as it will take more time, but they will also be more interesting...I hope. KISS...keep it simple stupid!!!!
