Published, Again......Yeah!!!!

I was fortunate, again, to be selected to be included in the above publication by Sandra Sider....60 images included and I was one of them....yeah, yeah.....my "Gecko" piece.....I love this piece, but for some odd reason I can't seem to get anyone interested in purchasing it.  It's strange how you have some pieces of your own work that you just adore and love and no one else does....I guess that's ok because then I"ll have them forever, but gee, what could be wrong with them if I like them so much????!!!!! 

I did an entire series of graphic type pieces like Gecko and got a lot of response verbally, but nothing much in the way of buyers.  Either folks are just afriad of putting something BOLD on their walls or the work is just not saleable.....I like to think it's the first reason.  Same with my bird series, which I'm going to continue with...love my bird pieces and I've sold a few, but gee, they are great and not much acceptance...I guess I'm going to have to step them up a bit with more abstract backgrounds, more embellishments, something!!!!! 

And I like to create things wacky but not many people like to purchase wacky, so I have to be careful because then I'd have a bunch of wacky.  I worked up a load of coiled pots, sold some, but I have quite a few left and nothing is happening with them...think I'm going to sew on a bunch of wacky stuff on the surfaces and see if they will see at the gallery...of course then that's a second category for me which takes up my space so I'll have to be careful not to over extend myself and then not sell at all.  Retail is a crazy business...especially in the art gallery...people tend to buy by color..."I want to match my color decor" instead of buying art because "the like it"......it takes all kinds.  L
